Working Equitation
Working equitation is a sport that is gaining popularity combining traditional field work with classical training. Work which required a horse to respond to their rider whatever terrain and difficulties they may face, creating a strong relationship between horse and rider.
The sport is a highly refined and sophisticated demonstration of these activities, but with the added required quality of elegance and speed of execution.

North East Working Equitation Training is a partnership between Vivien Whitfield and Caroline Howlett, born due a real desire to bring Working Equitation to the North East of England and the North as a whole. Whilst Vivien is on the Judges pathway, Caroline has focussed on her coaching training. Both compete at both regional and national level with their own horses and in Vivian’s first year she was crowned Novice National Champion with her unforgettable horse Chocky Wocky Doodah.
