St John's Church, Dipton
St John the Evangelist church in Dipton, to give it it's proper name was originally built in 1885-86 to the designs of Oliver and Leeson. The large cruciform building, in the Early English style, sits within a small former mining community. It was sympathetically restored following a fire in the vestry in 1963 which damaged the Chancel and south chapel.
However in 2013 it finally closed it's doors before being sold and transformed into a large house.
