Lee Ridley - Lost Voice Guy - Stand Up
Lee Ridley, whose stage name is Lost Voice Guy, is one of the most successful artists from Consett. He has a form of cerebral palsy that affects his movement and has made him unable to speak.
After completing an MA in Journalism he decided to start performing stand up comedy after seeing Ross Noble's impression of the physicist Stephen Hawking and telling him he could do it better. He uses an iPad voice synthesiser which can be pre-programmed with his material. The voice has been provided by another one of our subjects, Dan Pye from Castleside.

Lee's comedy career has really progressed from winning the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2014, starring in a BBC Radio 4 sitcom "Abilities" and then winning Britain's Got Talent in 2018. He has recently appeared on the BBC TV quiz show Pointless and has released a book "I'm Only Here for the Parking".
