Paddle Boarding - Derwent Sailing Club
Stand up paddleboarding is a fun activity you can enjoy on our canals and rivers, as well as on lakes, reservoirs and the sea. It’s a fantastic full-body workout and an excellent way to experience the beauty of the outdoors. Paddleboarding is perfect for people of all ages, body types and skill levels and it can be as exciting or calming as you’d like to make it. You can go out for a solo paddle and get closer to nature or enjoy it as a group activity with friends or family.
Derwent Sailing Club recently opened their doors to non-members and held an Open Day event, with the view of allowing people to try our various water based activities, including Paddle Boarding. The sunny weather, calm waters and the stunning panoramic views made for a perfect day to try paddle boarding and many people made use of the excellent facilities of the Sailing Club.
Away from the Open Day, the Sailing Club can offer members and non-members the added extras of the changing rooms, compressed air, hot showers, hot drinks and hot food to make a day of it. For families and more nervous paddlers the Reservoir has excellent paddling within sight of the shore and three-season safety boat coverage on Wednesday evenings, weekends and most bank holidays.
