Seamstress / Tailor - Fantasia Fancy Dress
Creating and constructing well-fitting garments can be a rewarding career choice for creative individuals who like working with their hands. These two professionals work with fabrics and other textiles to manipulate and alter clothing, accessories and other design items. Tailors and seamstresses or seamsters are very similar professions, but the jobs differ in several main areas.
A tailor is an adept professional specializing in adjusting and modifying clients' clothing according to their specifications or crafting entirely new garments using patterns and designs. Their expertise finds application in various settings, including textile and apparel manufacturers, clothing stores with alteration services, stylist services, dry cleaners, and wedding dress boutiques.
On the other hand, a seamstress is a skilled professional involved in creating garments based on existing designs or patterns. Typically, individuals in this role are at least 18 years old and may find employment with fashion designers, production companies, theatres, and other organizations requiring costumes or uniforms.
