Graham Wiley, Farmer. Key Worker
Food shopping is classed as essential and its something we all need to do, whether we physically go to the shop or have the food delivered. However, without the farmers where would we be!
Graham is a dairy farmer in the Derwent valley, he has had no rest during the pandemic and has been supported and aided by his wife and family in running his farm and looking after his animals. Without his daily work we would have no milk for our cup of Tea or breakfast cereal but despite being invaluable farmers have suffered worse than most businesses. Milk prices have plummeted, demand has dropped due to reduction in hospitality sector and feed prices have increased – who would be a farmer?
