Walking Cricket
Walking Cricket is a new venture in a number of Sport and Leisure Centres within County Durham run jointly by MoveCounty Durham and Durham Cricket Club. As the name suggests, there is no running between wickets but runs are scored by hitting the ball to specific areas in the sports hall. It is quite technical as the scoring areas are quite small so shots have to be fairly precise. Our photographer was at Consett Leisure Centre where the activity is on a Monday between 2 - 3 with no booking required.
The other venues in the area are Meadowfield, Crook, Sunderland, Houghton and Peterlee. More details can be found on the Move County Durham Facebook page or their website www.thriveleisure.co.uk.
