Madam Blu Tatooist
Tattoo parlours were among a list of close-contact businesses that were among the last to reopen after the first lockdown in the UK. While restaurants, pubs, hairdressers, and other non-essential retail shops reopened in early July, tattoo parlours, nail bars, beauty salons, and gyms had to wait a short while longer before they could welcome customers in again.
Tattoo parlours were also told that they must follow strict social distancing guidelines, wear PPE, and introduce rigorous cleaning regimes for surfaces and tools to make the venue Covid-secure. This was even though reputable tattoo parlours already had similar hygiene rules.
Madam Blu is one such Tattoo parlour in Consett and was only able to open its doors again in mid-July and trade for a short time before being forced to close once again during the second and third National Lockdowns.
