Churches Part 3 - Leadgate Salvation Army
Churches of all denominations have been closed during the various Tiers and Lockdowns in the last year. However, like most Amanda, the Salvation Army Captain from Leadgate has remained in touch with her congregation by using Zoom meetings, on- line services, weekly newsletters and personal telephone calls and visits. This has not stopped the excellent work that they have been doing in the community including regular Food collections for the Consett Food Bank and collecting used stamps for the RNIB.
It is hoped that the Army Hall will reopen fully to the congregation in the coming weeks and once more the sound of the Army Band and Worship Group singers will be heard.
